If you like a touch of Exotic for the garden, this plant really delivers! The Pineapple Lily (Eucomis) gives a dramatic display during late summer. It's really unusual, yet so easy to look after. It loves a sunny spot in well drained soil, so isn't for everyone. But this picture, taken in my own garden near Edinburgh, shows some that have been flowering merrily every summer for years and have survived many a Scottish winter! Something this Garden Designer doesn't find easy herself!
