Nick Nairn Cook School is looking gloriously colourful as we begin our adventure to create a truly wonderful kitchen garden. Situated by the shore of Lake of Menteith in the heart of the Trossachs National Park, this promises to be something really special.
Seasonal produce throughout the year and a garden that is a joy to immerse yourself in whilst eating the fruits of your labour.
It will be a feast for the eyes as well as the tum!
We’ll be looking at mixing edible and ornamental plants, shrubs and trees which will mutually benefit one another. Making the most of nature’s bounty with vegetables, fruits, berries and herbs.
This ‘companion planting’ approach is a fantastic, organic way to protect the edible plants from pests, whilst helping to improve their pollination. It’s all very exciting and we can’t wait to get the plans underway!
